This is a handsome, slim conifer that is deservedly popular. The foliage is grey-green and takes on distinctly stronger bluer tints in the winter months. Correctly sited it is useful with its tightly packed uniform foliage giving strong vertical but contained lines and it shouldn't reach more than 3m. It is excellent for background planting, especially in the smaller garden where it can protect smaller shrubs from the worst of the weather.
